However, there is a certain amount of confusion surrounding what constitutes a true Great One and how to distinguish them from a Kin. They have often been described as gods, and play a mysterious yet crucial role in the game's plot, as well as its overall lore. The Great Ones are group of extremely powerful, multi-dimensional beings that can exist across several planes of existence.
